Keep warm with Kroshay Cafe

So while peeking around on Etsy one late night, I came across a shop called Kroshay Cafe. Karen's shop consists of crocheted coffee cozy's and mug cozy's as well as cowl scarves and other goodies. I LOVE the way her coffee cozy's looked so I contacted her to see if she would be down for a review. Guess what... she said yes!

I was sent this GORGEOUS fall themed coffee cozy. How cute is that?? Karen's coffee cozy's are made with chunky yarn and is adorned with a flower and coconut button. Karen suggest a fall themed cozy so she chose the colors and thought the pumpkin and mustard color went perfect for fall. I was so excited to get it..

This is how it was packaged up for me.
I received my coffee cozy just before I went to work one day, which was great as I always get myself a tea of coffee beforehand. I showed hubs and even he thought it was a cool idea. "No more need for the crummy cardboard ones..."

It fit my coffee cup perfectly and I felt I had a better grip on my cup. I didn't burn my poor fingers when I received my fresh..piping hot tea. Plus it's such a cute accessories to have. I don't see many people with these bad boys. I even had a customer compliment me on it. (p.s. Karen, I gave her your Etsy shop name!)

Here its on a 20oz London Fog (mmm)
I've used my cozy everyday.. seriously! I just love the look of it on the cup, I love the functionality of it and love that I am not wasting extra cardboard in order to keep me from burning my fingers.

So, in my opinion, this is one of the best "greener living" products I have got! I keep it in my purse, and use it all the time. I love the flower detail and the coconut button adds a touch of 'earthy' to it. These would make a great holiday gift for any coffee/tea lover. Give this with a gift card to their favorite coffee shop or even a bag of awesome tea. I know i would be happy to see another one of these!

Kroshay Cafe has some great color combos. Check her out at http://www.etsy.com/shop/CrochetMarket?ref=pr_shop_more

She also makes some awesome looking cowl scarves.

I would like to thank Karen from KroshayCafe for allowing me to review her awesome coffee cozy's. Be sure to check her out on Etsy as well as her blog.

Trick or Treat!!

Tonight was J's first time Trick or Treating! Last year he was stroller bound and wasn't really into wearing his costume for very long. This year, again he wasn't very happy about wearing a costume, but he did it and he looked OH so CUTE!!

Originally I wanted to make him a Sack'o'Potatoes.. I had an actual burlap sac but I just didn't have time to make it so my MIL bought an Elmo costume for him. He is in love with Momo.. so it was only fitting...

We went to about 12 houses around my in laws house...basically to visit the neighbors who know J and haven't seen him in a long time... He was running from house to house.. sneaking extra candy when no one was looking (we were all looking..and laughing) He got a great haul of candy.

After about 45 minute's we went back to my in laws and had some tea then came home. Little man was out cold before we got home. So he didn't get his bath tonight... I did get a chance to brush his teeth, then it was bed time. He went down without a fight... I guess getting free candy is hard work!

Well until next Halloween!

No!

Have you ever had a day where you feel like your gunna just snap?? Well today was my 'bad' day...

J's new thing is, saying NO.. and it;s NO to everything... 'J, wanna have breakfast?' - 'NO' He ate so little for breakfast, and didn't drink his milk...

Ugh..today I got mad. I try very hard not to lose my temper but today I lost it. He smacked me in the face and that was it. I grabbed him, put him in his crib and yelled. Once I left his room I broke down and cried. I hate being mad..angry.. upset with him. He is my everything and I don't like to lose control....

After his 2 minute time out I went in to get him and there he was, jumping up and down saying "Mama" with his arms open. I saw the smile on his face and everything went back to being good (pardon the terrible English)

Here's hoping for a better day tomorrow...

Embarking on a new Adventure

Last night C and I went to celebrate my MIL retirement. First off, I have to say I haven't been to a party that classy before...hehe both C and I got all dressed up. It was a lot of fun.

We went downtown as the party was at my MIL work (RBC). I offered to take some picture for her as everyone else seemed to have forgotten theirs... I was happy to do. Silly me.. I forgot my other SD card and only got about 60 pictures... but nonetheless I got some great shots and some video too.

The view
We were up in the RBC town downtown on the 36th floor. What a view eh? I love the look of downtown BUT really don't like being down there too much.

They served a WONDERFUL selection of appies... mini sliders, grapes covered in cream cheese (SO GOOD) shrimp, Ahi Tuna..so many wonderful flavors... after everyone had a bite they started the speeches.

I knew once my mom got up there I would cry. And of course, she cried so I cried.. it was just so amazing to see my MIL be recognized for all the hard work she has done for the company. She worked for RBC for almost 37 years... LONG!

They ended the night with a cake.. which was again SOOO GOOD!

We left around 8:00 and headed home on the train... we were all still hungry so we headed to our local pub to grab a quick bite.

It was such a wonderful evening. My MIL is so excited to retire. I think she is most excited about being able to spend some quality time with her family...and J.

The boy and his car car

I just had to post this... no picture of anything but the past few posts J has been in his car car. The boy is obsessed with cars and car keys... well keys in general.

That's all.

Time to stock up!

I have started my newborn stash... now before you get all excited..I'm not pregnant yet. HA! I just thought, rather then buying more One Size diapers (or larges) I thought now would be a good time to slowly start building my itty bitty stash. So far I have 4!

I have 2 Applecheeks size one covers and inserts (I AM SO getting their new inserts and am looking for EUC covers) I have the new LE Lake Echo and also a St. Lucia. I must say I love these diapers. Hence why I am looking for EUC cover. If I could just use these for baby #2 I would!

SCORE! I found 3 Applecheeks size one covers for 12.00 each! SO happy! And what makes me even MORE happy is Applecheeks came out with a NEW Microterry insert. I WILL be getting some of those. YA!

I also have a small gDiaper (I loved my g's) I may get another 2 pack just because I loved the ease and the fit of them. Then I have a size 1 Thirsties cover in Warm Stripes. I plan on purchasing some Bummis Preemie prefolds as well as some infant prefolds as well. I'm trying to decide if i want to purchase more Thirsties covers or if I should go with the Bummis Super Lite. They are a great price and are Made in Canada, so...there are So many decisions haha!

There are so may different brands and to be honest I want them all!!!

So here's hoping to a BFP in November!

Much love

p.s. have a GRREEAATT weekend!

Backyard treasures

Today J and I spent some time in our backyard playing (J was more exploring than anything.) We've had some crummy weather but today was sunny but still chilly. I thought it would be nice to get outside when it wasn't raining!

On top of it being a great day to be outside, I thought I would try out my new camera in some good light!

Such a pretty color.

I thought the lighting was nice.

Over the summer a tomato plant erupted from our garden. I say 'erupted' because one day it wasn't there, and then it seemed like the next day BAM there it was! Here are some hidden treasures. I dislike tomato's but C and J like them.
I'm testing out the zoom for the one. Again, such beautiful colors. And the lighting was great!

Here's my monkey. Such a happy little boy. Hard to believe that he will be turning 2 in three short months. I've already started planning for it. I NEED to find a 'momo' cake pan. I think we will do an Elmo theme. Really hoping that tomorrow is just as nice as today was. Maybe then we can go to the park! Have a great Thursday!

A little bit of this, and a little bit of that.

Last weekend was Thanksgiving! My little family spent the weekend with C's parents, as my parents are getting settled down in their new place 3.5 hours away. My MIL LOVES to coordinate her house decor with the season. We all bug her about it as the storage room is filled with ALL sorts of themed decor. (Easter, Valentines day, Halloween, you name it. and she has it!)

I have to admit, that I love it. Once we own out own place and have room to store 'knick knacks' I will mostly go CRAZY with themed decor!

Here are a few shots of our Thanksgiving dinner table.

I really love this pumpkin. It's such a nice festive touch to any table.
We used the 'good' china. It belongs to C's Grandmother.

My fav!

The GORGEOUS bouquet of flowers my MIL got for her birthday (Which happened to be on Oct. 10!) I love Gerber daisies. Especially orange ones. I had them in my wedding bouquet!

So there's a little snap shot of my holiday weekend.

Much love

Mix up!

Today C and I thought was J's first day of swimming lessons... I wasn't going with them as I have been battling the headache from hell! So C got all the stuff ready to go to the pool. J had no idea what was going on but left with Daddy happy to go in the 'car car'

I felt really bad that I wasn't going to be there for his first lesson but there was no way I could venture out into bright lights and A LOT of noise.

Around 6:30 this evening, C and J returned home. I asked how it went and C said "His lessons aren't until NEXT week..the 18th!"

*Palm to forehead* WHOOPS!

Anyways, C and J played in the pool. Apparently J is a little fish. Venturing out and dunking his own head. Like father like son I guess. C loves the water. So I guess J get's that from his daddy.

At least I can be there next with, camera in hand to see my little boy at his first swimming lessons. I can't wait!

..::EDIT::..

His Classes were CANCELED! He was the only one who was signed up for that time slot :(

New Toy!!

Today I splurged! Yes, I bought myself a brand spankin' new camera!!

My MIL and myself (with J too!!) went to Costco because she said I may find a good deal. Well there wasn't anything great but I did decide to purchase a Nikon digital camera. An upgraded version from the one that we already had. When I went to pick it up the lady told me that they only had one left and that it was the display model. INSTANTLY I said I wanted a refund. There was no way I was taking the display mode..even if they gave me a discount (which they were not willing to do anyways..) so I left Costco empty handed.

My MIL then asked if I wanted to go to another store. I agreed and we headed off. I knew I had a budget to stick with ....but I wanted to make sure I got a good one. We couldn't afford a DSLR (I REALLY want one... like really really bad) but I couldn't fork out the 800.00 + dollars for one. But I did get the top of the line Canon Point and Shoot. (I still spent waaaaayyy too much, but C was ok with it. he loves it just as much as I do)

I love taking photos. I took photography all throughout high school and loved it. There's something about capturing a moment... ahh!

So anyways, I now get to play around with my new toy. I cannot wait for tomorrow when I can take J outside and take lots and lots of photos!

Now.. I need to find someone who makes super cute camera straps... anyone know of anyone?? let me know!!

Happy Thanksgiving to all my Canadian readers!

Much love

A Saturday wake up call

Ah Saturday's... I loved being able to sleep in till god knows what time..but that doesn't happen anymore. EVER!

J is up like clock work everyday at 8:00. Regardless of the time he goes to bed, he's up at 8. This morning was different. I realized the baby monitor wasn't on in his room (Yes, I still sleep with it by my bed) but at about 6:00 I woke up abruptly to the sound of J.

You know in the early months you wake at the sound of them sighing..well this morning I woke up to him laughing hysterically. It was so funny that I started to laugh. It only lasted a few minutes and then...silence. He fell asleep again. I went back to bed till 8:15 and at 8:20 J was awake.

Yay! I got to sleep in for 15 WHOLE minutes!! I went in to get him and there he was, with a big smile on his face, jumping up and down. He stretched his arms out to me and said "Mama..momo!!" I just smiled, gave him a kiss and said "Good morning to you too J" The boy loves Elmo..

Hope everyone has a great weekend. Here in Canada it's Thanksgiving weekend. I'll have photos of our family dinner.... J should be happy. He loves turkey~

Much love

What's coming up!

So the last few weeks I have been hard at work contacting companies to see if they were at all interested in teaming up for a review. It's A LOT harder than I had first anticipated. But now that I am getting more 'established' I am getting more hits! Which is great!!

So what's coming up....

Boogie Wipes! Yay! I have heard some FANTASTIC reviews on their products. So I am looking forward to doing this review.. oh and I should mention.. there is a giveaway that goes along with it! So keep your eyes open!

I will be doing a review on the new LUXbutt cloth diapers as well. They are a new brand on the market (well not quite on the market yet) but they look fantastic and I am excited to try a new brand. I also recently won a new diaper from Bumblebaby diapers!! Super excited to try a Canadian WAHM diaper! So I will be doing a review on it just because. Also Glow bug diapers and I have teamed up for a review AND a giveaway!! So again KEEP YOUR EYES peeled!

For all my coffee/tea lovers, I am beyond excited to get to review a Coffee Cozy from Kroshaycafe etsy shop!

So there you have it. A line up of review and giveaway. I must say I am so thankful for all of this. A BIG BIG BIG thank you to my sponsors!!Without you my blog would be me rambling about..well I'm not to sure!

Someone explain

Ok so this post will bare a little too much info, and I am sorry to any of my family who read this, hehe. November 4th 2008 my Dad suddenly passed away. I was in utter shock. I had not spoken to him in almost 6 months and regret that every single day. After his passing I was very depressed and in a major funk. C and I relationship was kind of rocky there for a bit. He didn't know how to help me and I wasn't letting him help..I wasn't letting ANYONE help me. I needed to do this on my own.. whatever it was.

Let's just say, that our sex life was pretty much nonexistent. I was stuck in a rut and was in no way interested in sex. I'll admit that I felt terrible about it, but I was dealing with emotions I couldn't handle. There were a few months where he got lucky, but let me tell you, sex was the LAST thing on my mind.

So fast forward six months.... C and I were intimate one day in April/May and I wasn't on any birth control. Actually I was in the middle of switching from one type to another.. I wasn't thinking about the possibility that we could end up pregnant...anyways...It was May long weekend and we were headed to Osoyoos/Penticton to see my grandparents and spread their half of my dad's ashes. While there, I was SO tired. I remember one night eating dinner and saying that I was just going to lie down for just a bit but ended up sleeping from 7:00pm till the next morning. No one thought anything of it. I didn't..I just assumed I was tired from the whole ordeal.

The next weekend we had a birthday to go to and on the Sunday we had a baby shower. On the Saturday C told me to take a test. He was SO sure that I was pregnant..I thought he was crazy..there was no way I could be. I mean we were only having sex ONCE a month... ONCE.. no more. But sure enough...I got a BFP Saturday May 26th 2009.

So can someone tell me why...now that we WANT to have another baby..why is it so hard to actually get pregnant?? We are going on month four and I have been on it.. well we both have. We have not been using any 'methods' ie: Ovulation test strips or anything.. I've tried to calculate my dates.. but still we have come up empty handed. I've been taking my vitamins, cut out the caffeine, the drinks etc and still nothing. I don't want to get all upset with this..or get frustrated cause I know it can take up to a year but really???!!!! I told myself when we started trying not to get too stressed out about it. I though I was doing really well, but I know I am slightly stressed. It's all I can think about. I need to calm down and let nature take it's course.

AF is slated for tomorrow.. and I took a test today and got a BFN...It's so upsetting when I continue to see negative tests. My goal this month... NOT TO TAKE A SINGLE TEST TILL NOVEMBER lol save myself some moola!! ..::EDIT::.. she came (HARUMPH!)

Fingers crossed for a BFP in November...

Happy Birthday to my love

So tomorrow C turns...26! This weekend we celebrated by going to our local pub for some food and he had some drinks. My mother in law was kind enough to take J for the night (this does not happen very often. I HATE being away from J) Although I can say, we did stay there that night too! We had a big group of our friends come, and it was so nice to see everyone. It was a great night. I think C enjoyed his time out...maybe a little too much!!

My MIL also treated me to some R&R..I got to go and get a pedi.. ahh it was bliss!!

Today was spent lazing around, watching football with the family. J got a new toy from Nana, but he was not really interested in it. Instead my son was infatuated with his CAT key. Or as he calls it, his "carcar". No lie, he has not put this key down for almost 3 days. And if you even attempt to take it away, he throws a FIT! Come to think of it.. I don't remember him having it on the car ride home... hmm we may have a rough morning... Anyways, we stayed for dinner tonight at the in laws. C wanted lasagna for dinner and we had lemon pie for dessert (C's favorite!) I must say I had a wonderful weekend with my in laws. I always love spending time with family.

On another note, my parents are settling in in their new home 3.5 hours away. My mom said it was the move from hell!! First off, my dad's truck died on the Hope Princeton highway, my sister and her boyfriend didn't arrive until 11:30 that night (12 hours AFTER they left the coast) and to top everything off.. their new couches didn't match! I feel terrible for them and also miss them already! I can't wait for our first trip up to see them!

So there you have it. Oh and my mother in law was nice enough to lend me her camera for the week until I pick one that I like! So me on the lookout for some new reviews...

Much love
