The amazing Hockey stick hat by Stickheads!

While browsing the Internet one night, I came across a website called Stickheads. My first thought was "What an odd name for a company" but I clicked on the site and I must say I am SO glad I did.

What are Stickheads?

Welcome to Stickheads, home of the amazing hockey stick hat! We want girls and boys to get their head in the game of hockey and life and have fun doing it!

DEDICATION + MOTIVATION = SUCCESS.

Stickheads was created by two moms - Susan, the fashionista designer and Melissa,
the hockey playing home-maker. The pair of them want to help kids get their head in
the game of hockey and life, and thought this simple yet innovative hat was a great way
to start. Donating to charities, a community nominated MVP award and a cool, interactive
website (coming soon!) are other ways their breakaway idea will score with hockey fans
everywhere.

So come on, get your head in the game with a Stickheads hockey stick hat!

I LOVE this idea. We are a big Hockey loving family. J gets very excited when a game is on (and we just took him to see his first game!!)

Stickheads, carries a variety of Hockey inspired gear. They have Hockey Hoodies, super adorable Hockey t-shirts, Blankets and they have their Hockey Stick hats. I was in love and had to contact them.

Susan got back to me and agreed to let me do a review of their Stickhead Hockey hats. Squee!!

The review;

I was sent a hat in J's size. They come in a wide selection of sizes, from 0-12 months all the way up to 9+ years, which they claim can fit the regular size adult as well!. They also have a good selection of 'team'colors. I chose the Royal and Green as it is the Vancouver Canucks colors and we are big fans.

J's hat arrived and oh my. I was so excited to try it on him. Now J has a large head. He gets that from C, so at first I was a little concerned that it wouldn't fit, but because it is polar fleece, it had some stretch to it and fit his big head perfectly. It's a good thing too, cause it's got cold in Vancouver quick!!

I love the detail that goes into these hats. The Hockey Stick end just makes it so unique. It's not something that you see everyday. I got a lot of compliments about it and have told people where they can find them!

J's head was kept warm while we were out on our walks and he was stylin' hehe. These are a great hat for any hockey lover. They would also make a unique shower gift. I did have to wash it as J took it off and, into the puddle it went. I hand washed it, laid it flat to dry and voila, good as new!

Sorry, for the poor quality. I took this on my Phone.
I love finding new Canadian companies, and love helping them get their name out there. Susan at Stickheads  has been great to work with. My item was shipped and received in a timely manner. I hope to do business with them again.

They are $24.99 each and like I said before come in a great array of colors.

Don't see the color combo you like?? Well then create your own! For $29.99 have a custom Stickheads hat made just for you! http://stickheads.ca/index.php?page=shop.product_details&flypage=flypage.tpl&product_id=48&category_id=13&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=85

Make sure you check out their other items too. I see they have a new Goalie Stick hat out. LOVE IT!

Please note I was sent a sample product for review purposes only. All opinions are strictly my own and may differ from others. No monetary compensation was taken. Thank you Stickheads for allowing me to do this review!

22 months and a handful!

November 18; You are 22 months!

Holy cow!! 22 months... that means in 8 short weeks you will be two! TWO! I can't seem to wrap my head around it. J, you amaze me more and more everyday.

You have grown so much in the last month it's blows my mind. You know the letter D, you know what and where your dino is, what shoes are... it's kinda crazy. Ah, my little baby is no longer my little baby. Grandma always told me that they grow up so fast but I never imagined in a million years it would go by this fast.

Sweetheart, mummy loves you so much. Even when you do things you KNOW you shouldn't be doing. You test my patients, make me laugh, and make me cry. But I want you to know that no matter what, I love you so very much and nothing will ever change that!

J's words:

Mama/Dada
Nana
Papa
Matt
Momo
Elbow
Piza (pizza)
D (as in the letter D - and can point it out!)
NO
ples (Please)
Car
baybe
Me
B (as in the letter B and can point it out!)

You are such a wonderful little man, and you make life worth living.

I love you so much.

xoxo

Cannot wait!

I am so excited to go and see my mom and dad!! I have not seen them in over a month. It's the longest I have ever been away from my mom.

C and I decided to take a trip to their house over the Remembrance Day weekend. We plan on leaving  Friday morning. I think I have to work Thursday and it's snowing in Manning so we are better off leaving when the roads won't be so icy. I love road trips. Even if it's just a short 3.5 hour ride. I LOVE the Hope/Princeton drive...like really love it!

I am really looking forward to snapping some great shots, and taking J to see him Grandma and Grandpa. I know they have been missing him like crazy!!

I have a few more reviews to post. I am still waiting on my review/giveaway products but I will have them done as soon as possible!

So LUX with LUXbutt

A while back I was chosen to test out the new diaper brand LUXbutt. I had seen some of their diapers via pictures and was very excited to get the chance to review one of them.

About LUXbutt Cloth Diapers:

100% Canadian designed one-size ORGANIC pocket cloth diapers that are LUXurious, stylish, affordable and best of all EASY TO USE.

LUXbutt one-size organic cloth diapers are an adjustable one-size fits most that will fit your baby from newborn to toddler (approx. 8-40lbs).

Made with LUXurious 100% certified organic cotton velour and waterproof PUL. LUXbutt diapers are super easy to use and oh so LUXurious on your baby’s butt!

Just stuff & snap and you’re good to go!

My review:

LUXbutt One Size diaper in Dark Chocolate

Ok so right off the bat, I love that they are Canadian.. even better they are local to me!! When I inspected it, the inner is OH SO soft... it is made of Organic Cotton Velour. Let me tell you, it is so soft, and has stayed soft even after multiple washings. The snaps seem very durable and there is a little added touch to them. The snaps on my dark chocolate diaper (black) are brown. I like that.

The snap placement is similar to my another name brand diaper, but personally I like the tabs on the LUX better. I got a good snug fit on J's chubby belly.

Super wide pocket opening. EASY stuffing!
The construction of this diaper is well thought out. It has a SUPER wide pocket opening, making it very easy to stuff the diaper. Even C said so. There is no exposed elastic. Again, a great feature. The rise adjustment is hidden in the large pocket opening and it's very simple to change the settings to get the perfect fit around the legs. The leg elastic is very soft and has not left any red marks on J's chubby thighs. It's slightly thicker than others but still very soft.

All Lux diapers come with one (1) LUXhemp insert. It's a hemp/microfiber combo. I won't lie, I purchased 6 extra ones to fit into other various diapers. They are great doubled up for nighttime use, PLUS I can use them on top of the diaper kind of like a hybrid system.

The ONLY thing I wish is that the insert was a tad larger, but that's just me. Everything washes up well, and has held up to J.

The fit is great, no marks have been left on J and he seems comfortable in his LUXbutt. I think the diaper is cute and I love the colors they have. It could have something to do with the fact that they all have Chocolate names... hehe White Chocolate, Milk Chocolate and Dark Chocolate. They are all delicious looking.

All in all this is a great diaper. It;s soft, well fitting and a good price. Regularly these go for $24.95 (that includes on LUXhemp insert) but right now, they have their Grand Opening Sale on, and these are available for $21.95!! Their inserts are also on sale. Stock up while you can. You will not be disappointed!!

Please note that I paid for my diaper, at a discount for this review. All reviews are strictly my own and my opinion may differ from others. Please contact me if you have any questions or concerns.

Tasty Thursday... Easy Zucchini Sticks

I just had to share this easy peasy recipe. I found this in a Kraft book at my Grandma's one day and just had to try it. All you need is a few ingredients and about 30 minutes... Tasty Tasty!

What you will need:

2 Small Zucchini's
1 Package of Extra Crispy Shake'n'Bake
Seasoning to taste
1 egg
Cooking spray

First, preheat your oven to 350' F. Wash your zucchini and cut into 1 inch lengths.

Beat the egg into a shallow bowl, and spread out Shake'n'Bake on plate with seasoning. Dip your zucchini pieces into the egg, then dredge in the Shake'n'Bake. Repeat with all zucchini sticks.

Place coated sticks in a single layer on a non stick baking sheet. (I only had my Brownie sheet available, but any baking sheet will do) Once, that is done, spray a light coating of cooking spray on the sticks.

Bake in the oven at 350'F for about 15 minutes. Or until the coating is crispy.

Serve warm with dipping sauce of your choice. I usually go with ranch.

Voila! Easy Zucchini sticks without all the oil!

Enjoy!

Wordless Wednesday

Much love
xoxo
