Oh my! I am so far behind!! Lot's has been going on and I just haven't been able to keep up!! So I'm going to sit down with my glass of red wine and try to get in a post. Ok.. here we go....
So J is now half walking- half crawling. If that makes sense. He wants to walk, but he finds crawling easier so he chooses to do that. I just get SO excited when I see him take some steps! So that's really all thats new with J. He's a determind little guy, and I think it's only a matter of time that my little man stands up and walks clear across the room. Oy! That's a scary thought, but I know I will be smiling from ear to ear. Love you wee one!
Last night (Saturday) C and I had a little dinner party. I wouldn't call it an actual "dinner party" but we did have our friends L & T over for some din din and drinks. I even made waffles with whip cream and fresh strawberries. We had a fab time. My sister and her bf then came over (at like 12:30) I try to go to bed at a reasonable time, cause J is up every morning at 8:00! But nope not last night. I 'partied' it up till 2:30!!
Needless to say I was exhausted today. But I was so flippin' nice out I couldn't bare to stay inside all day. So after J got his nap in (as well as C) we packed up and went for a walk to get our groceries. It was a beautiful sunny day. Sure there was a wind but it was refreshing. J got some fresh air and I got some exercise.
So there you have it. The last four days... was it four days?? Oh well, that's it really. Nothing too exciting. I did place an order for some new fluff (cloth diapers) so I am anxiously waiting for them to arrive. I also won a new GoGreen Pocket diaper and wet bag from Mama B. I'm so excited for that too.OH and I won a mini Plantwise wet/dry bag. I've had a bit of good luck, but it hasn't won me the lotto..yet!!
Until my next post, much love and laughter. Remember to smile and make sure you tell someone you love them. xoxo

Days six and seven!
Again, I'm behind. Things have been a little hectic around here. I'm trying to find a job (even though I would LOVE to be a SAHM) I need some adult interaction. C and I rearranged our living room last night. Ahh I love when I ge to move furniture around. It always nice to have a little change. J was a little confused about the whole thing. This morning when I put him in his chair for breakfast, he was looking around at everything. Too cute!
J's list of words at 12 months:
1) Baba
2) Dada
3) Nana
4) Bubble
5) MAMA!!!!
He wasn't saying anything new, until a few days ago! I was SO happy that he FINALLY said mama. Now he's always saying. I love it so much. I was jealous of C, when all J said was Dada, but now he says both! And to top it all off, he's standing on his own (without holding on the anything, and that includes holding on to something to pull himself up) he's taking more and more steps! Yay! I love it, but I am also a little sad, my 'infant' isn't an infant anymore. He's my big boy!!

Whoops! Day 4 & 5!
So I am behind a day! I knew I wasn't going to be able to do it! But I have an excuse. It was my FIL 60th Birthday. So we were out for the night! We had a great time. J got to see friends of the family whom he hasn't seen in a little over six months! The night/party was fantastic, until bed time rolled around (for us anyways) J is a FABULOUS sleeper. Down at 6:30ish and sleeps right through till 8:00 the next morning; except when we are at Nana and Papa's. Then it's down at his regular time and up at 1:30am. Up, down, up, down ALL NIGHT LONG! It all works out in the end, cause he then goes to bed earlier the next day and sleeps right through. I have such a wonderful little guy! Ok, so that is Saturday's.... day! OH! Almost forgot. I just wanted to say that my good friend just had a baby on Saturday (Jan 22 2011) He was eleven days late! He was born at 9:26 pm, weighing in at 9lbs 13 oz, and 22 inches long! Such a cutie pie!! Congrats A! You did it!!
Today (Sunday) was like any other day, but I'm really tired and am not really in the 'bloggin' mood. So I'll leave this post with a few pictures of J being silly. He's feeling better. Still has a cough, but mummy is the one hurting now!! Hmm looks like it's another movie day tomorrow!
Much love! xoxo

Day 3 - Winter Wonderland? and sick little boy!
This morning I woke up to find snow falling! Honestly, I love the snow but c'mon! We live in Vancouver!! At least it won't sick around. It's warming up and it's melting! Thank you mother nature.
On another note, J woke up this morning with a hacking cough. After a year of no illness, he wakes up TODAY with a cold. It doesn't seem to bother him too much. He's still my happy little man. Hopefully it doesn't get worse and I really hope we all don't get sick!

Day 2! Oatmeal for breaky??
We tried something different today for breakfast. Usually J eats Baby Cereal with pureed fruit, but today I gave him some oatmeal (chunky) with strawberries and blueberries. He never uses a spoon so I knew his hands were getting ready to take a fist full. Well needless to say, there was oatmeal everywhere!!
He's ONE!! Day 1
Ok so I wanted to start a 365 blog yesterday but I just wasn't able to get here to post. So I will start today and still do 365 days of James!
Yesterday J turned one. I woke up and was in tears! I know I know, it's not bad or sad really. I just couldn't believe that he was a whole year old.
I look back to the first time I was left alone with J. I won't lie, I was scared to be alone with him. I just didn't know if I was holding him right, or if he was feeding properly. All in all I just wasn't sure if I was going to be a good mom. After the first night, all the motherly instincts kicked in and from somewhere I just knew what to do.
It's been great to see him develop over the year. To hear his first laugh, to see his first smile. And when he started to crawl I was such a proud mommy!
I am so very excited to see him grow more and more each day! Everyday he does something new, changes just a little bit and I don't want to miss anything!

Dimpleskins Bum Bum Balm
When J was first born we were using disposable diapers. He got his first diaper rash a few days after we got home from the hospital. It was never a 'bad' rash but just a consistent one. We tried everything to get rid of it. Air drying him before we put on a new diaper, Penetans 'medicated' cream as well as their 'clear' diaper cream. When he was about 3 months I decided I wanted to try cloth diapers. I thought maybe it had something to do with us using chemical filled diapers. We bought the Bummis Organic Cotton Prefold system to try and with it came a little sample tin of Bum Bum Balm from Dimpleskins.
I really wasn't keen on the prefolds, but the Bum Bum Balm was fantastic. Even after we switched back to sposies (Ugh. That was hard), I continued to use the balm. After two days... yes two days, J's rash was gone! Like totally, 100% gone. I was so very happy with this product that I immediately went out to buy a full size tin. The consistency of the first batch I got was a hard, ‘wax’ like texture. It’s took some force to really get in there to get the product. But then I realized that you really only need a little of it for it to work its magic. The first tin lasted almost three months. While other bum creams were gone in a matter of a month.
My second tin I got was totally different from my first. This one was more on the “liquid honey’ side. I was concerned that maybe something was wrong with this tin so I contacted them and they assured me that every batch is different and it was still safe to use. We eventually switched back over to cloth diapers and as of right now, Dimpleskins is the ONLY butt balm I am ever going to use. I have suggested it to all my soon to be mommies! We are still using this tin and are no way near finished it and it’s been two months.
Most bum balms in my opinion have way to much perfume in them. But Dimpleskins has just enough scent and the smell is wonderful. The combo of Lavender and Calendula makes a wonderful scent. The tin it comes in is 100% recyclable or you can reuse it for odds and ends around the house.
If I had to rate Dimpleskins Bum Bum Balm out of 5... It would get top marks. I love this balm and will continue to use it on my next child. Thank you to a great company whose mission is to give mommies and babies, fresh, clean and all natural products.
Check out The Dimpleskins website and take a look around. All their products are made by hand with 100% Organic materials. http://www.dimpleskinsnaturals.com/ingredients.htm
