Weekend Update

I'll keep this short and sweet.

On Thursday my Mum came into town for the weekend, which was great!  I was very happy to see her as was Jimbo.

On Friday we went to.... Ikea..again! I picked up a Star Light for Graham's room and bought Jimmy a new tent! He LOVES it! He's got Big Bird in there as well as his chair and likes to have picnics in it. I got it home to put together and realized then how big it was... yeah so now we have a tent in our living room.

We HAD to have a meatball lunch. James ate a 10 pc plate.

Chillin in his tent!

We went out for Sushi that night for dinner - I was starting to feel like poo. Chris had been battling a cold for the week and I was thinking maybe just maybe it would bypass me... boy was I wrong.

Saturday, Chris had to work (boo to that!) but it was ok as the pay will be worth it. I woke up with a full blown cold. Runny nose, sore throat and plugged ears. James was SO out of sorts. Usually he is pretty calm and happy but Saturday he was a mess.

My mum took me to purchase Graham's crib mattress (yippee!! things are coming together!) and James would not cooperate. He didn't want to go in the cart, didn't want to walk and was whiney and grumpy. We dropped the mattress off at home and decided before grocery shopping we would go out for some lunch. We went to IHOP which was great as I wanted breakfast!

James again, was in a terrible mood. He cried and cried and screamed which is so not like him. He NEVER acts out in public. The place was packed, and having my child be 'that kid' was slightly embarrassing. The ladies sitting in the booth next to us kept looking at me..the look on their faces were like "Wow, she cannot keep him under control" I wanted to say to them to stop staring - he's 2.5 for goodness sakes and is just upset. Mind your own business. My lordy! We got through lunch and went home as James needed his nap.

We both slept till 4:00 ish. By that time Chris was home from work and my mum and I went and got the groceries. Chris was going out to a fundraiser to support our friends who are doing a Rickshaw race through Indonesia to bring awareness to the hunger situation.

We had a calm night. James was in a lot better of a mood once he woke up from his nap - except for when I left. All hell broke loose in the house Chris said. He was inconsolable. But everything was fine.

We had dinner, had our treat, our bath and he went to bed like an angel. My mum and I stayed up to watch 'The Business of being Born" as I had told her about it and she was interested to watch it. After that we both needed to go to bed. Not only and I sick but I got my mum sick too!!

Today we are not doing anything. Football is on and that's what we will do for the day. Sit around and do nothing! I have a busy week ahead of me - I have to deal with the Government, I have medical stuff to do and on Friday we are leaving for another wedding.

Time to be lazy and possibly get some more sleep in!!

Happy Sunday!
Much love

33 weeks

I think I say this every week but I cannot believe we are at 33 weeks already!!

I had a midwife appointment yesterday, and we went over some of the stuff I need to know in order to have our Home Birth. I got my Home Birth package - which includes all the forms necessary to have a home birth in British Columbia as well as all the newborn forms that will need to be filled out. It kinda puts a perspective on how much longer I have till we get to meet Graham.

I also picked up my Home Birth kit - which includes some of the supplies that will be needed. Chris was ON ME about this. So all I need now is some towels, Hydrogen peroxide, straws and other miscellaneous stuff and some painters drop sheets... odd I know - but apparently they work good for your bed, couch or wherever you plan to birth.

I also got my stuff to do the GBS test which I am not looking forward to. But Jillian (one of my midwives) said I should take it between 34 & 35 weeks, since I gave birth to James at 37 weeks she is worried that Graham will come early and we won't have the test results. So, I get to do that next week... yay! So all that is pretty much in place. I told her about the lower pelvic pain and the braxton hicks contractions and she said it's because he is head down and is getting into the birth position. So that was also good to hear. At least I know we are on the right track

I've gained some more weight, which they are happy about! I think I am at about 15lbs total so far. I've been craving orange juice again and ice water. Nothing else really. Just eating what I want. So all in all it was a good appointment. Looking forward to my next visit in 2 weeks and then I get a home visit and then I see them every week.

This week hasn't been all rainbows and unicorns - I thought I would be kind and let our new neighbors know that we plan to have a home birth and if they hear anything odd close to my due date that I am not being abused or anything but am having a baby and please DO NOT call the cops. Plus, I wanted to let me landlord know. Well - I should have kept my big trap shut! Let's just say, my landlord wasn't keen on the idea but since he has no legal leg to stand on he's going along with it. I let the others know and they are all ok with it. No worries or concerns.. well not voiced anyways.

Dealing with the Canadian Government has been hectic as well. Since I worked only part time.. like serious part time my claim is slightly different... plus I need a new ROE as my employer filled it out incorrectly. UGH! I just want something to go right!

Now there has been some GOOD happen! Today I received my Je Port Mon Bebe wrap all the way from France - holy cow there is a lot of fabric to a wrap. Plus, I also received my new AppleCheeks storage sac which is SUPER cute and I will be doing a review on it.

OH! OH! I almost forgot to mention - I won a LittleD's Anatome wrap last week too! Yay for baby wearing gear! I've also clinched some reviews from some awesome WAHM products and companies and I cannot wait to share with all of you!

So that's that in a nut shell. I'm sitting here thinking - I am rambling again! Which I am... but too bad!!

Zebras, Donkeys & Giraffes OH MY!

Chris has a four day weekend - Have to love Union Holidays!

On Friday we decided we would go to the Zoo rather than the fair. Being 32 almost 33 weeks, I didn't think I could handle the crowds or the walking...so we got up early and off we went!

I haven't been to the Zoo in fifteen years! I was 10 the last time I was there so I was JUST as excited as James was!

Pardon the photo bomb but there really isn't any other way to do this!

Chris really pissed this guy off. He was squakin' up a storm!

James pointed out that there was a 'RED bird" and signed Red

He's got such cool eyes!

Hard to see but there is a little family of Monkeys here! So CUTE

We got to the Giraffe enclosure and James went NUTS! He was so excited to see them. They are such gorgeous animals. He was jumping up and down yelling "Giraffe! Mummy! Daddy! Giraffe!"

Then when we got to the Zebras he did the same thing - except he thought they were horses... I explained what they were and he got it.

James to the donkey "HEEHAW! HEEHAW!"

We went on the train ride too! James was scared at first but them calmed down once we got going. It was a 15 minute ride through the park and we got to see some cool animals.

HIPPOS!

We didn't get a good shot of the Tiger on the train ride so we went back to see if we could see him. He was no where to be found at first then he came out, just long enough for me to get some ok shots through the chain link fence. This is my favorite. Stunning cat.

This guy was ON THE MOVE! You could see the trail he had made in his enclosure - from walking around, and around and around!

We had lunch and a treat (I was craving a Corn Dog so I had to have one!) We were there for a few hours and then James was getting tired and Mummy was getting more Braxton Hicks contractions so it was time to go.

We had a blast! It was a BIG week for James. First on Monday we went to the Aquarium, then on Wednesday he peed on the potty - I didn't mention it but on Thursday he peed TWICE on the potty!! So we found it fitting as a reward to take him to the Zoo. I think he enjoyed himself. We didn't have to have him in the stroller a lot as there is room to walk and run - it was a great family day.

Hope everyone is enjoying their Labor Day weekend!
