It's a GIRL!

OK so before you start saying "Oh, I thought you were having a boy" .... we are - but my friend Jack whom I have known for 20 years is having a little girl!

Her guess date is November 6th...I think... so we are about 2 weeks apart. Yesterday we celebrated with a shower!

Here are just some of the pictures I caught!

We played some really fun games, like the clothes pin game - we were not allowed to say 'Jackie' or 'Baby' and if you were caught the person who caught you took your pin... I won that one! We also did a relay type race - You were paired up and then one person had to drink Apple juice from a sippy cup, then your partner had to put together 2 little puzzles, next you were blindfolded and had to taste some canned baby food and guess one ingredient - next step was to put on a diaper on a teddy bear while blindfolded and finally you had to name a girls name forever letter of the Alphabet - My friend Amber and I were on a team - we won that one too with a time of 2 minutes and 38 seconds!

This is one of the other games we played - Pin the Sperm on the Egg - yeah.. this one is self explanatory!

I had such a great afternoon with some great company! We are so excited for Jack and her husband Nik!

Me at 36+3 weeks and Jack at 34+4 weeks. Yes we have the SAME color top on - Great minds think alike!

Happy Sunday!
Much love

Itty Bitty Stash

I just wanted to share this photo with you all! Last night I got the urge to rewash all of Graham's tiny cloth diapers and put them away. They were sitting in the storage containers just waiting to be stuffed!

I'm still waiting for a custom fleece cover that I won from Bug On A Rug and a SUPER SUPER cute knitted diaper cover and Pumpkin hat from Lovelady Crafts & Creations.

Here is Baby Graham's cloth diaper stash!

Ok, so here is what it consists of:

10 infant/baby prefolds
4 size 1 Thirsties Cover (Aplix)
6 small gDiaper inserts
1 small gDiaper
2 Grovia Newborn AIO
2 Little Bee (Newborn) AIO
2 o/s Rumparooz
2 small Itti Bitti d'lish AIO
1 medium Itti Bitti d'lish AIO
2 small AMP AIO
2 size 1 Thristies Fab Fitted
11 size 1 AppleCheeks
1 pair of small/newborn longies from Mama Bird
2 medium fleece soakers from La Bum Ba
1 small Aristocrats Wool soaker

I'm hoping that will be a good amount to have - and to be able to wash every other day. Most of his stash was bought used, which saved us even MORE money. I am very happy with what I have accumulated. I love looking at it and cannot wait to cloth diaper him from birth!

Here is what I am waiting for: I think after I get these that's it for his stash.. I think!!

HOW FLIPPING CUTE IS THIS! I cannot wait!

So that's it! I still have James' massive stash to use as well. Some of the GoGreen diapers may fit after a few weeks - as I know some of the little diapers I have won't fit for very long. I will be doing reviews on the different diapers as well, once Graham gets here. So keep an eye out!

I'm off to a baby shower today for a friend I have known for 20 years! We are due 2 weeks apart! I'll be sure to post photos!

Much love

Early mornings...makes for a tired Mummy! RANT!

For the past week James has had EARLY mornings. He is such a good little sleeper - goes to bed when asked and stays in bed. But..that's changing.

While he still goes down like an angel, he's been getting up anywhere between 2:00 am and 4:00 am - either SCREAMING or just WIDE awake! On Monday he woke up screaming from what I can only chalk up to night terrors, but I'm not 100% sure if that's it. On Tuesday, he had a full diaper of... well..poo, so I had to get him up to change him. I couldn't let him sit it that!

Wednesday was a 3:00 am wake up..screaming.. again. I again, got up and brought him into bed with Chris and I, but he never settled down and kept us up till Chris had to go to work. I felt terrible not only for James but for Chris too, as he gets up early to go to work everyday.

Yesterday again was an early morning, but he stayed him bed.

Then there was this morning... I got up around 2:00 am to go to the bathroom - hehe what else is new. As I passed his room, I smelt it. POO! James NEVER used to poop at night. Always during the day. But this is now the third time that he has done it whilst sleeping. I went pee, grabbed a new diaper and some wipes and went in to change him.

TMI ALERT! I opened his door and the smell of crap SMACKED me in the face. Something I really didn't want to be dealing with at 2:00 in the morning. I got up him, changed him, and he was WIDE awake. I had to change his sheets and everything. So gross.

I brought him into our room but when I realized he was not going to go back to bed, I put him back into his room. He didn't settle. He was up till 5:30 - then came into my room and slept till 7:15. I am at a loss on what to do.

While I know I could just leave him in his room, when he wakes up screaming and crying I HAVE to go in. I can't leave him like that. And since he has been so clingy, trying to put him back to bed in his own room at that time is hard as well since he doesn't want me to leave.

Once he is up for the day, he seems to be fine - yesterday he was an angel. We went out for lunch with my Mother in Law - around nap time and he didn't fuss or cause any scenes or anything. Plus we even went shopping after and again, surprised me at how well behaved he was. But he did fall asleep on the way home and was out cold till about 5:00 pm.

I try keeping him on a scheduled nap time, I know he needs his nap cause if he doesn't nap he's a completely different James. So omitting the naps would NOT be the best thing to do.

I'm just so tired. After a week of COMPLETE interrupted sleep, I feel like a walking zombie and I'm have about this much patients.

But how can I be mad or upset when I have this little sweet boy cuddled up next to me?....

Sorry for the rant - I just needed to get that off my chest! Thanks for listening!

Happy Friday!

Much love

36 weeks of Pregnancy

Yes today marks my 36 week! Time is ticking away so fast and I need it to slow down just a bit! Like this much {     } hehe

I am supposed to have a home visit from the Midwives this week but they have been busy with other births which I totally understand but I still feel like I am very unprepared for Graham's birth. Having them come here I think would just put my mind at ease - I don't know why... maybe it's so they know how to get here, and maybe it will make it more real to me. I don't know - but if they don't get here this week I see them next Thursday. Got to love weekly appointments.**At this point in time with James I had my 36 week appointment - scheduled my 37 but never made it!**

I have a hospital bag packed for Graham (I am working on one for myself and will be posting what we have packed for him) but I think once I reach 37 weeks I won't be so paranoid that this child is going to fall out of me before I am term.

I've had some mild cramping at night, and in the morning, but it goes away during the day. I think I just don't realize it is happening. I mean I am running around chasing after James - the Braxton Hicks contractions have increased and and slightly intensified, but again, I'm guessing that is Graham getting ready.. as well as my uterus telling me it's almost go time!

Something else telling me its almost go time, is my little Jimmy. The child is stuck to me like glue. The last few days he has got up at 4:00 am only to call out for me and then he comes and cuddles in bed with me till about 8:00 am. Now usually he sleeps on "his side" or "my side" as he calls it - in reality it's Chris' side of the bed but try telling that to James. But for the last week he cuddles right up to me - RIGHT up to me. Arm around my neck, always needing to be touching me. I AM NOT COMPLAINING about that. I love his cuddles. Even his stinky morning breath hehe - I almost feel guilty that Graham is coming soon.

During the day he is shadowing my every move - I can't even go to the bathroom without him following me in. Again I'm not complaining - just telling it like it is. I'm scared to leave him with anyone - even with Chris as he freaks out when I leave him. I have a baby shower to attend on Saturday and I'm seriously worried that he will have a breakdown with Daddy.

I've made sure that I spend special time with him - for example when it's bed time Chris gives him his bath like normal and brushes his teeth and then Chris will put him in bed but I spend an extra 10 minutes with him giving him kisses and telling him how special he is and how much I love him "I, I yuv you too Mummy" Melts my heart every time. I don't want him to hate me after Graham is born. It's honestly my biggest fear.

**Funny moment this week** James and I were sitting on the couch and he went to lay down - head on my belly and Graham kicked him. He looked up at me and said "Mummy! Dam kicked me!" I couldn't help but laugh and then he started to laugh and said "No Dam Go to sleep!" Kids really do say the darnedest things.

So at 36 weeks - sleep is what I need! It's still hard to get to sleep and very easy for me to get up - well not in the physical sense. Getting out of bed it hard work and the whole needing to pee every 10 minutes is getting old. I guess it doesn't help that I drink 10 glasses a of water before bed! BUT if I don't I get terrible leg cramps! So I would much rather pee all night then wake up to spasms in my legs.

Ok - I have to go back and re read what I just wrote....hold on....Ok I think that sounds...uhh ok.

Now it's just a waiting game. Everyone is telling me I'll go early, and while I want to believe that, I have a funny feeling I'll go past my guess date. Which isn't a bad thing, I'm just very anxious to meet this little man.

I think I have rambled on long enough - Here's my 36 week belly shots. Getting low and uncomfortable!

36 weeks! Excuse the dead look - no make up for this mama today!

Won't lie - very happy not to see any stretch marks - but my belly button has popped and looks funky!

Hurry up Baby 'Dam' - we all want to meet you!

Much love

Mommy Soup Cloth Diaper Cover Review & {Giveaway}

I was contacted my Shaina of MommySoup to see if I would like to review one of her handmade products. Now I love reviewing WAHM products. There's something special about receiving something handmade/homemade.

I was quick to agree and decided that I would test out one of her PUL diaper covers. (You can never have enough!)

A little bit about MommySoup:

Shaina is the creator of MommySoup - she makes quality handmade diaper covers, cloth diapers and jewelery! She also makes flannel wipes which look super soft and squishy and inserts! Check her out on Etsy and Facebook!

I was so excited to receive my package from her! Here's what I received:

One size PUL diaper cover with Velcro closure.

HOW funky is this print?? I love it and so does Chris! When I opened my package I was very impressed with not only HOW it was shipped but also the quality of the PUL. I went to put it on James right away!

But...there was a slight problem - I didn't fit! The waist was too small even with the Velcro closure. I was so heartbroken! This has never happened to us before so I contacted Shaina again to let her know. She advised me to ship it back and she would 'tweak it'

Now, THAT is customer service! I don't know many other people who would be willing to take back the product to tweak it  for me. She asked how much bigger it needed to be - as she would change up her pattern for the one sized covers - I gave my input - and shipped it back. I waited 'patiently' for it to return to me! I really loved this cover!

Again, I was so excited to receive my package back and see how she made the cover even better!

Large Velcro fastener in the front. Makes for a 'custom' fit

Revamped Velcro - large tabs that are SUPER sticky

So I feel like an idiot and realized that I didn't take any photos of the before diaper cover - so I will try to explain it to you. Before the Velcro tabs were 'embedded' into the cover itself - but now they are 'out?' hehe - that's about as good as I can explain it! I washed it and put it in the dryer to reseal the PUL and then put it to use.

I tried the cover on with one of James' fitted diapers (Goodmama) and I don't know if it's the cover or if it's the more bulky fitted but I didn't like how the cover sat on the diaper and neither did James - so I decided this cover would be used with my prefolds - which is great cause I love prefolds!!

Inside - THICK PUL and strong snaps.
I LOVE this cover - when we use our prefolds! Like seriously LOVE IT!! The fit on James is great, it looks comfortable and to be honest it just looks good on. I use the tri fold method and we haven't had any leaks. I plan on testing this cover out with Graham as well - and will be using prefolds and fitted - So I will do another review on how it fits on a newborn!

We haven't had a poop in it yet, so I can't say if it will keep it contained, but I think it would. I'll update once we get one - wow.. can't believe I said that!

Good fit - not too tight and not too loose. The print makes me smile

Now there are a few things I would really love to see on this diaper to make it even better - to have the front of it gathered a bit to hold a prefold in place, same goes with the back. Also, I'd like the see the leg elastic a little more - stretchy - even with the tweak to the cover James doesn't have much longer in it. I will say though - the elastics are very soft and they haven't left any red marks around his chubby legs!

The cover washes well, and the laundry tabs stick - I don't have a diaper train going on in my laundry when it comes time to wash. Also the snaps are sturdy and quality. The cover is very well made.

My overall thoughts:

While I love the cover as it is now - there could be a few tweaks here and there to make it SUPER great. But don't let this deter you. I think James being the size he is (almost 40lbs) he is at the weight limit for this cover. I'm guessing that this cover will be great on little Graham when he gets here.

James dancing away in his MommySoup diaper cover

MommySoup covers can be found on Etsy and retail for around $10.00 USD. It's a great price for a very well made diaper cover. She also has pocket diapers, wipes, inserts, bibs and quilts. All in great prints!! There is a StarWars cover on there that I WANT!!

Want a chance to win an item of your choice from MommySoup?? Enter the Rafflecopter form below for your chance! You can pick any item (excluding quilts and clothing) from her Etsy shop.

WOOLZIES Dryer Ball Review

I am a self proclaimed dryer ball-a-holic! Seriously! I bought my first set last year and ditched the dryer sheets and haven't looked back since! I LOVE THEM!

I was on the hunt for some new dryer balls as some of mine have seen better days. During a bloghop giveaway I kept seeing a new name "Woolzies Dryer Balls" There was a lot of great things said so I thought I would check them out! Their site is so easy to navigate which is always bonus! I hate when I get to website and it takes me forever to find the about us, or to actually find the product.

I decided I would contact them to see if they would allow me to do a review and they said YES! I was super excited to work with them - like I said A LOT of people were happy with their Woolzies Dryer Balls - so it just made me even more excited!

A little bit about Woolzies Dryer Balls:

Soft By Nature, Inc. is a small family owned company nestled in the picturesque Hudson Valley region of Southern New York State. Our mission is straight-forward; we intend to pass down this earth to our children in the same beautiful condition that we received it from our parents. We accomplish this by developing all natural eco friendly products and sharing them with our fellow citizens.
In this spirit, we are very proud to present WOOLZIES, The All Natural Dryer Ball Set. This set of six handmade pure wool dryer balls are special in several ways. They deliver the same benefits for laundry as conventional fabric softeners WITHOUT all the nasty chemicals. They save everyone a lot of money by eliminating the need to continuously spend on fabric softener liquid and sheets. They cut down on the time it takes to dry a typical load by at least 25% thereby saving everyone even more money and cutting down on fossil fuel usage. Finally, being as that they are handmade in the democratic republic of Nepal, they provide a steady source of income to the desperately needy women of that developing nation.
So smile when you purchase a set of WOOLZIES, because you know you're helping to make the world a more pleasant place for yourself, your family and future generations!

When my box arrived I was SO SO SO excited to open it! My first thoughts were - that I loved the packaging. No plastic bits, and easy to recycle! I was very happy to see that it came with a insert with FAQ's. So if you were to gift a box of these to someone who has never used them, they would have the answers right there!

So what are Woolzies Dryer Balls!?:
Woolzies are pure handmade New Zealand wool dryer balls that soften your laundry naturally without any of the chemicals of conventional fabric softeners. Unlike the plastic dryer balls, they are PVC free and won't fall apart or melt on you. Woolzies save time and energy by cutting down on drying time by an average of 25% per load. They also help reduce static and wrinkles.

When I opened the box, I was surprised to see how large they were. Compared to some of my other retired balls, Woolzies were massive!! They are OH so soft, and I put them to use right away!

They are about the size of a tennis ball

I had some towels that needed to be washed that day so I did the load and put the dryer balls to work. Now usually, I put the dryer setting to high heat (on the eco friendly setting that we have) but this time I threw all 6 Woolzies in and put it to the lower heat to see if they would dry on that setting rather than the higher one. It usually takes 2 of those cycles to dry my towels BUT to my surprise after just one dry cycle with the 6 dryer balls the towels came out dry and SUPER fluffy. Another bonus was they were so quiet. I didn't hear the 'bounce bounce' of balls rolling around in my dryer.

This was half the load - apparently Chris didn't hear me when I said DO NOT TOUCH THE  TOWELS IN THE DRYER!

I was so very happy with the results. I didn't have to use the high heat setting - and didn't have to do 2 dry cycles on the lower setting. Our clothes came out soft, diaper were not crunchy and towels were soft and fluffy. Very impressed with Woolzies Dryer Balls.

Each box of Woolzies contain 6 handmade dryer balls - and they retail for $35.99 with FREE shipping to the US and Canada! If you are International there is a flat rate of $6.95 which is a great deal. You also have the option to do a gift wrap if you want to send a box to a friend.

My overall thoughts:

Woozlies are by far the best dryer balls I have tried. The size of them alone is what does it for me. I just need the 6 in the dryer for my regular sized loads and I will sometimes toss in my retired ones in if it's a larger load like bed sheets and what not. They are SUPER quiet while they are tumbling in the dryer which is a bonus and I can get laundry done while J sleeps and there is minimal noise from the dryer.

The price is great! You are getting a eco friendly, handmade product that you can reuse time and time again - I think I you would spend more on dryer sheets... yeah... you would!

If you are wanting to try some Woozlies Dryer balls head on over to their website and order yourself a set. You won't be disappointed!

Why I am a 'Crap-Tastic' Mum

Ok, so I've seen this on quite a few of the blogs I follow and I thought I would participate. Jen from Life with Levi I believe started this...I must say thank you. No really thank you!

The Mummy wars that go on are CRAZY!! Seriously! I don't have a lot of friends who have children but there are some and we all parent SO differently - and guess what... THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH THAT!!! We need to stop this... it's making us all look nuts!

So here is my list on why I am a CRAP-TASTIC Mum to James - Graham watch out bud!

1. James watches WAY to much television
2. I did not co-sleep with James
3. I breastfed James till he was 15.5 months (he stopped on his own)
4. I made my own baby food
5. I immunized James on time
6. James is still intact
7. I try to make veggies every night for dinner - doesn't mean he eats them
8. I steals hugs and kisses from James all the time. And get kisses on the lips
9. I nap with James every day
10. James drinks cows milk and loves it (sometime I add chocolate milk mix!)
11. He gets juice
12. He started forward facing at 18 months (this was daddy's doing NOT mine)
13. I cuss in front of him and YES he has repeated some words
14. Some days I don't take him outside
15. While we do cloth diaper I have used the occasional sposie diaper
16. James is 2.5 - almost 3 and still not potty trained
17. James has a set bedtime
18. I hate giving J 'time outs' or stern discipline period.
19. We have dance parties to less than child friendly music
20. James can use the electronic devices in our home better than Chris and I can - and Nan's iPad
21. We do not teach religion in our home
22. I bribe with candy and treats
23. He bathes every day and gets his teeth brushed twice a day
24. I let James listen to the "Baa Baa Song" all the time
25. I call Jimmy a weirdo, let him know I love him ALL THE TIME and that he is the best thing that has ever happened to me.

I really could go on and on and ON! But there are some reasons why I - Alisha - am a CRAP-TASTIC Mum. We all do things differently, and that's just life. I love my child and child to be more than anything in the world. If you think any of these things make me a crappy mum then so be it. That's your opinion and... you know how the saying goes.. Opinions are like.... yeah...

Much love

35 weeks - 35 days to go

Ok, the countdown is really on! 35 days to go! I'm not going to go into much detail about week 35 as everything has been the same for the past couple of weeks. I go see the midwives tomorrow so I may do a post on that if anything is to come up.

With James' pregnancy I had no idea that once I hit this point I would only have 2 weeks before we would meet - so this time around I am making sure everything is in place for a 37 week delivery. However - I do not want to start thinking that Graham is going to come early like James did cause that will just make me miserable once I hit the 37 week mark..and he's not here.

I am going to make some meals to freeze for when I go into labor. I want to be able to have proper food - meaning if I got into labor in the middle of the night I have something that is hearty and healthy - like Chili or lasagna. Or if it's early in the morning, have some quiches made up with egg and spinach or something. My mother in law said that if it was an afternoon labor and delivery she would be more than willing to bring over cold cuts and cheese... so I think we are covered there.

I never got to eat while in labor with James - nothing - except ice chips and water - and let me tell you - it SUCKED!! So I am hoping I can eat this time around... that's something I should ask about... ok note to self!*

Sleep is sucking - I can't get to sleep and then when I go any little noise wakes me. Then it takes forever again to get back to sleep. I have to pee constantly, and rolling over with my belly hurts. Graham likes to be active at night which isn't good for me but either way I love being able to feel him move around. I am constantly thirsty - which just leads to more bathroom trips. I get up and feel like a little hand is going to punch right through my vagina! HA!

Ok, enough complaining! This pregnancy has gone so fast and it's a bittersweet feeling knowing this is it. But in the end, I have my boys and I was able to carry life inside of me. I wouldn't trade anything for the moments I treasure so deeply. So here;s to the last few weeks of 'kinda' sleeping through the night.

Can't wait to hold my new babe soon.

Here's something I put together today. The top two pictures are of my 35 week belly with James and his 20 week ultrasound picture. The bottom two are me today at 35 weeks with Graham and his 20 week scan photo. I have to say - I didn't think I was that big... but the camera adds 10 pounds right??

Command Hook from 3M Review {Giveaway} CAN ONLY

Ok, I have to admit that I am one of those people who pokes holes in the walls with thumb tacks... most of the time I make more than one... ok I make A LOT and it always looks terrible after.

When we moved into our new place I didn't want to riddle the wall with holes - my mom told me about the 3M Command Hooks and bought us some. I must say, I LOVE THEM! I have them up all over the house. Some under the sink to hold mt duster, one to hold my oven mitts and I even have one in the bathroom to hold our 'dunk and swish' gloves for J's diapers!

When I received an email from 3M Command asking if I would be interested in reviewing their Brushed Metal Decorative hooks, I agreed right away!

I was sent 2 large Traditional Brushed Nickel Hooks, as well as a Value Pack of the medium sized Brushed Nickel Hooks. The Large Hooks look like real metal which is great! While I like the white plastic ones too these just make looks more sleek.

My first thoughts:

"These looks so stylish! I wonder where I can put these!"

The hooks themselves are so easy to use: 2 steps to attach and 2 steps to take down:

I really love that the hooks can be removed without damaging the wall. All you have to do is pull on the strip and it comes off clean. No paint removal, or residue.

Command™ Traditional Brushed Nickel Finish Large Hook
  • Damage-Free Hanging
  • Holds strongly
  • Removes cleanly
  • Easy to apply
  • Easy to remove
Works on a variety of surfaces Weight Capacity: 5 pounds

Approximate Size (L x W x D):
4 1/8 x 1 5/8 x 1 7/8 Inches

For the large hooks, I put them down at our front door to hang our coats and my purse. We don't have a very large space at the bottom of the stairs - so finding a way to be able to hang up coats and whatnot was something I was looking into. The 3M Command Traditional Brushed Nickel Hook allows us to have that extra storage on the wall - so I don't need a coat rack now!!! The hooks say they can hold up to 5 lbs and let me tell you - yes they can!! My purse is not light, either is Chris' work jacket and we have had NO issues with them falling off.

At my entry way

I was also sent a Value Pack of the same hooks but in size medium. The medium hooks are great for hanging smaller items. James and I did some art work and he wanted it to be hung on his door... the medium hooks worked great for that. I didn't worry about it falling off the door or damaging the door.

Command™ Traditional Brushed Nickel FinishMedium Hook Value Pack
  • Damage-Free Hanging
  • Holds strongly
  • Removes cleanly
  • Easy to apply
  • Easy to remove
Works on a variety of surfaces Weight Capacity: 3 pounds

Approximate Size (L x W x D):
3 1/8 x 1 1/4 x 1 1/2 Inches

The Value Pack it's a great deal . It comes with 3 medium sized hooks and 6 medium strips. Plenty for all your decorating needs. I plan on using my others for our fall decorating. Or maybe in Graham's room... Oh I don't know! But I do know I will need some more!

J's wooden letter - I love that we can change the art work without having to remove the hook!

My overall thoughts:

I LOVE the Command Hooks. I am so happy that I do not have to make a bunch of holes in the walls for thumb tacks. I plan to go out and get some of the picture hooks so we can hang all of our family photos. I've been putting it off as we have a lot and that would be a lot of nails etc. I'd also really like to try out the Command Caddy. I think it would be great in the kitchen where our calender is to toss in miscellaneous stuff. There are literally 100's of ways to use the Command Hooks. In your kitchen, bedroom, in your child's room. In school, in dorm.. the possibilities are endless.

3M Command has a hook for you! Be sure to check them out! They have a wide variety for all your needs.
